Baseball is being rocked by two players from two completely different countries.
One is Yasiel Puig (The Bay of Puig!) of the L.A. Dodgers who hails from Cuba and the other is Japanese ball player Munenori Kawasaki of the Toronto Blue Jays.
"I always like to play aggressive and always try to put on a show for
the fans. They [the fans] come to spend their time and lose sleep
watching us play. It is one, to me, of the more emotional things in
baseball." Puig.
Amen, brother.

New Jersey Devils forward Ilya Kovalchuk has decided to retire from the NHL and is likely to sign with a Russian team in the KHL. Kovalchuk, 30, signed a 15 year 100 million dollar (something like that) with the Devils and was just three years into the contract leaving $77 million on the table.
At this point, and the red flags have been waving for some time, I don't know how NHL clubs can commit to Russian players given the rise of the KHL. It's a tough situation because Russian players are wicked talented but are too mercurial. The allure of playing in their home country may prove to be too much to resist.
Can you blame them?
As for the Devils, there's a serious dearth of scoring options at the moment. We'll see what Magic Lou comes up with.
