Remember, this ain't no dumb brotha making these comments. Sports journalists fell over themselves talking about how intelligent RGIII is. And quite frankly, after his comments about the "tyranny of political correctness" (a term I've used here for years), I'd have to say he's my kind of guy.
I agree. The Washington Redskins shouldn't be forced into changing their names.
Call it what you want - cult of political correctness is another - but the dark iron curtain of PC discourages and is hostile to free speech and free thinking in a supposed open society.
Now everyone is jumping on Chris Brassard for having the temerity to express his opinions about homosexuality. I don't give a shit about what people say, I just want them to be free to express their views. And fuck any asshole who thinks otherwise. Why should his opinion be marginalized and chastised?
And fuck ESPN for not having the balls to defend Brassard. Rather it chose to disclose the same usual "we're for diversity" gibberish. If there's one word that never made any sense to me and is fast losing any meaning, it's diversity.
I don't need to be reminded about diversity. It may as well be a ship as Ron burgundy claims.
You're not free some of the time or most of the time. There is no right and wrong time to express one's view - as one dolt on Yahoo! sports argued - either you're free or not.
If these conditions are not there for us to enjoy and defend then we have nothing but hollow ideas and intellectualism not worth defending but worth fighting against.
These people are not smart, open or progressive.
Call them for what they are: Intolerant meanies.
I have always wondered about "diversity." Does it mean we are all different and that difference is defined by ethnicity or skin color? Isn't that what we were supposed to be moving beyond?
