Some information on cooking oils.
I use a mixture (depending on what I'm cooking) of sunflower oil, vegetable oil they describe in the post(albeit very little), pure peanut oil, sesame oil, canola oil and of course olive oil (probably 75%).
Go oil go! Go oil go!
Use coconut oil or real butter. Olive oil is okay for some cooking, but has its limits. Otherwise, regular vegetable oil is basically a poison.
ReplyDeleteYeah, which is why I don't really use it unless it has the better ingredients...even then. I don't know why I mention it. I certainly don't spread it on my salads and stuff like that.
ReplyDeleteI hate coconuts and butter, and my wife is allergic to dairy products. For my daughter we use local made butter, fresh cheeses we buy once a week and the sort.
Olive oil is king around here in general.
Olive oil rules in this house, and Canola are big in my house. Safflower is another. I agree about the use of butter. I use margarine (and olive oil margarine at that) in limited quantities. Butter is just a better choice for most things.
ReplyDeleteBacon grease, all the way.
ReplyDeleteWeird, I can't feel my left arm...
