If it were up to me, my day care would be up and running by now. Unfortunately, I have to wait around for the state's "stamp of approval" before I move on. Everything is a 30-day turn around with these guys. It's crazy.
It's even more nuttier considering my consultants are reputable businesswomen with substantial experience in the industry. One in particular helped to design, implement and run the government day care program! Instead of the government saying, "Oh, we know them. They're excellent people and we trust them. Do what you gotta do and make sure regulations are met and good luck" they put everyone through the same static process. It's not efficient. But what can you do?
Then they wonder why there's such a demand. If people were free to set up shop, the demand would be filled just...like...that. Snap!
