I find this fascinating though not surprising.
The thing I find most intriguing about bureaucrats holding hostile views of the people is A) they freely joined the public service to serve, you know, the fucking people and B) who do they think pays their salaries and pensions often more generous than the the taxpayers they hold in contempt?
Put it to you another way. If people don't work and produce, there's no money to pay civil servants since government doesn't produce anything.
