You both offend my intellectual and moral core for your incredible lack of judgment by attending a rally in support of Hezbollah. Ignorant, idiotic and insulting. I point you to 'The Inferno.' Dante and Virgil are waiting to take you to Charon and your deserved boat ride into hell.
Why Quebecois leaders have the balls to take to the streets to oppose the action of a state that is defending itself is beyond anything imaginable. They are men that have attained a higher existence of stupidity.
Well, isn't it possible that they aren't stupid? Rather than following the admittedly stupid path of Jacques Parizeau and blaming money and the ethnic vote, they are instead attempting to woo the ethnic vote?
ReplyDeleteIn Quebec, jews (exclusively anglos) are a lost cost for the seperatists. On the other hand, non-pur laine francophones (ie. lebanese, north africans, haitians) certainly don't seem to be targeted by the conservatives.
Perhaps, rather than "majestically stupid", you meant to write "majestically opportunistic"?
There's probably some of that in there but you have to understand that they identify with this sort of stuff. Please see om: I married an Alien. As for the lost anglo vote, they not only lost the Jews permanently but the Italians, Greeks. The three groups have formed an informal alliance here. The Italians in particular have always been the battle ground as the third solitude. The problem is that the English weren't better in treating Italians. Many are Federalists but they will not pick a side. The Lebanese and Haitians are trickier. The Lebanese are an established group and while they speak French in Lebanon many are English-speaking here and tend to vote Fed. Same with the Hatians. They seem like a natural ally but from what I can tell they too are loyal to Canada. Same with the Indians and South Pacific rim. But you're right, there is no doubt they are an easier target. I'm more concerned witht he new Muslim immigrant and Hispanics - these are the groups that ten to support emotional, revolutionary stuff. If the buffoons in Quebec City are to find supporters in their crackpot agenda it probably will be here. They tend to buy into the 'oppressed' lingo. Though Quebec is hardly oppressed.
