In a sea of one poor decision after bad measure based on numerous faulty models and specious science and mixed messages the people of the West have been subjected to perhaps one of the most hysterical over reactions in Western medical and political history.
The incompetence and fear mongering has reached fever pitch to the point where shallow and selfish corporate and political interests are prepared to sacrifice the overall health of people to protect their own skins and reputations.
It's like that movie. The one with the doctor accused of killing wife caught in a twisted medical corruption web. You know, the one with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Douglas.
Something is going on and it's time people start paying close attention.
There's social angst and friction at our feet. People are arguing and treating each other with hostility over something as silly as masks.
This is because they've been riled up to a point where the virus is seen as an inevitable threat to their health.
It's been frustrating watching the increasing chorus of doctors and virologists begin to speak out and question what the heck is going on as media, social media platforms and politicians shut them down.
One can understand perhaps the excessive measures are designed to protect politicians from being accused of 'not doing enough'. But at this point, I'm not sure what more they can do.
They're micro-managing and dictating how we live our lives for a virus with a 99.8% survival rate. They worry about cases but it's pretty clear that cases onto themselves mean little and don't tell the whole story.
It's been quite distressing watching people allow bureaucrats to tell them how to live.
This is not a life. We've accepted lockdowns and mask mandates. What's next?
People will have to start facing the reality of needing to calculate the trade-offs of these decisions.
We're told we have to 'save every life' but when it comes to HCQ and its benefits, this has been turned into some kind of conspiracy when in fact it looks like it's just a simple and effective way to help treat patients. So why is it so political now?
It's hard to tell but Trump and November certainly plays a role. Do NOT under estimate the fact Trump spoke well of HCQ is one reason why the media is not reporting on it fairly. Another could be the notion pharma has a lot to lose in this game particularly when it comes to the vaccines.
People have to be aware that their habits are changing but not for the right reasons.
If it's true HCQ was suppressed, this is a major health scandal for the modern era. It means people were allowed to die for politics.
Or just sheer arrogance and stupidity.
It's hard to know where to apply Occam's Razor in this sordid mess.
Personally, I have no confidence left in public officials. All they seem to do is wing and not evolve with the right data. They're just chasing 'cases'. How is this remotely a good use of resources? Suppressing a virus strikes me as a fool's game and bound to wreak havoc worse than the virus itself.
Next up is low morale among the population.
We still have Harvard experts saying lockdowns are necessary (even though it has NOT been shown they're effective. Though we DO know of its horrible unintended consequences) and MIT professors think if one doesn't wear a mask they're an 'extremist'.
Not choosing to wear a mask on the grounds the evidence of wearing one is specious makes one an extremist now? Is this where are in 2020? In addition to cancelling each other out, we demonize one another? How much more anti-intellectual can we get?
Or worse, as Dr. Arruda stupidly asserted, a murderer - of course without presenting a shred of evidence to a) asymptomatic people kill and b) how many actually did.
Either he's lying or he's a fool causing unnecessary stress among the population.
Like we should laugh about the Middle-Ages because it doesn't sound like we've evolved all that much.
Are we headed for a sickening double down of stupidity as currently being played in Victoria, Australia? Are we gonna imprison people for their own good? When does it end?

Like the sources used to support mass mask mandates are flawed, it's the same with HCQ it looks like. This scandal is what led to the WHO suspending studies on HCQ. Then comes the Gilead angle with Remdisivir (which Fauci is allegedly connected to but I can't find proof of this). They stand to lose, so it's claimed, a lot of money if hydroxychloriquine succeeds. The U.S. National Library of Medicine is now studying it. We'll see.
The question is why are revered and respected journals like The Lancet and the NEJM staking their reputations publishing bad science and subsequently reacting them? Once it goes out, it doesn't come out of people's heads. Are they being pressured from an outside source like pharma?
At some point, in the interest of science and human decency these papers will have to take a stand do what's right.
Or else, they're doing their part in soiling their own legacy and leading people over a cliff with junk science.
