Les Deplorables

“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?” she said to applause and laughter. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”

Gee, whatever happened to uniting a nation and civil discourse, eh?

This kind of progressive arrogance should surprise no one. It's par for the course really.

I'm not sure what's to be gained by attacking voters rather than the candidate. Again, it's just another example of the breathtaking contempt for people living between New York, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles; the so-called fly over country.

I don't know what it's going to take for people to realize the left aren't on the side of the people, their liberty or small business. Rather, they revere government and big business.

It's interesting to note the same people who chastise Americans (and Canadians for that matter) for being stupid are the product of the progressive education system they seek to preserve and enhance. Is this not an admittance of failure?

It's not that hard to see the source of all things said to be bad in our society. Where there's an epidemic of obesity, scratch and find the government's irrational war on fat that led to people over loading on carbs. McDonald's gets to be the scapegoat in this ridiculous scenario.

Indeed, the whole point of progressivism is to run contrary to human nature and the course of history (ironic given they claim classical liberalism/libertarianism is not practical) by redesigning, redefining and revising all the parts that don't fit the narrative of how they conceptualize what constitutes a great civilization - and all the distortions that came with it.

This is the core of progressive principles.

Les deplorables indeed.

  1. The individualist is a rare breed anymore.
It's too bad, the attitude that "not everyone can (or should) be accommodated".

    1. What's truly deplorable and depressing is jack asses on the left - ie Slate, Salon, etc. - defending this sort of elitism. To me, they're just *better educated* hicks.
