From You Can Keep It To You Didn't Build That To I Didn't Set The Red Line, POTUS Wings As He Sees Fits

Oh. My. God.

This guy is some piece of work.

"Now, if you had one of these plans before the Affordable Care Act came into law and you really liked that plan, what we said was you can keep it if it hasn't changed since the law passed,"

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. NO! That is NOT what you said. Even I all the way up here in Canada heard you flat out say - no editing, no nothing - 'you can keep your plan if you like it.' Now that that's turned into a flat out lie as millions of Americans are seeing A) their premiums shoot up and B) are seeing policies cancelled he's changing the tune. Insurance companies are cancelling not because they want to but because the policies no longer comply with the law. It's not because of evil Republicans, or that people had shitty plans or the Koch brothers or whatever silly excuse propped up - it's because of Obamacare. And POTUS knows this.

Moreover, notice the 'we said.' For guy who has made it a habit of using 'I' a lot, the sudden shift to 'we' is interesting.

Like he laughably said "I didn't set a red line, the world did." The world responded with a "huh? What's he talkin' 'bout?"

Now set aside the fact he's the President. If he were any ordinary individual - say a person selling life insurance? - would you accept this behavior? He essentially, well, lied.

I certainly wouldn't.

I think it's pretty clear the Americans are dealing with a rather shallow sort of cat in their elected representative.

It's okay to lie because it's for your own good is what it all boils down to. The ends justify the means.
