In a recent conversation with my doctor (pediatrician to be exact) friend he made the following remark, "...the problem with lay people trying to look at things in the absence of experience and common sense, and without perspective. It's one of the big downsides of the Internet."
Aside that he is normally a mild-mannered and cultured gent, this somewhat blunt response was accurate.
Might I add this applies to politics and history.
In this light and as a side question, did the internet kill (or at least contribute to the manslaughter of) America's image?
