Quebec Police Continue To Shine

I attended my second protest ever to go and film and make sure the media reports it property.

Like the last time, the cops were aggressively and dramatically randomly grabbing people without masks to hand out tickets. All dressed in their riot gear for a peaceful protest. /rolls eyes.

It's hilarious because 90% of people didn't have one - as proper. That's the whole point. To show how stupid, pointless and counter-productive Quebec and its idiotic measures are.

Nice state of affairs and racket we have going on in Quebec. Quebec Inc. gonna corrupt as the police are gonna thug.

Too bad police chiefs aren't reading the Charter to their officers and reminding Lil' Bishop Legault about it.

I'm starting to here excuses from people saying things like, 'what would you do better?' and 'hindsight is 20/20'. This is a preposterous (and dangerous) line of thinking because it will threaten if not diffuse any chance at investigating and finding the truth as to what happened and how they arrived at their decisions that were obviously flawed from the beginning. It is true 'all countries did this' but as pointed out, that group think and copying others isn't justified.

This blog alone has chronicled evens since Mach of 2020. There were plenty of poor decisions and obvious actions that were perplexing and borne from outright panic from the onset. 

For example, experts had warned to isolate the elderly with undying conditions from the onset astutely observing what happened in Europe. Instead, we ignored it and the result was pure mayhem whereby we used cruel and draconian one-size fits all measures assaulting a healthy population.

Lockdowns from the onset was known NOT to be the way to go. We're learning thanks to people like Lt. Col. Redman politicians were notified and warned about the measures they were about to take but ignored them. Dr. John Ioannidis from Stanford was also cautioning countries and appealing to calm from the onset. Economists warned lockdowns could be calculated into lives lost and that's what happened. Despite this, countries decided to let panic seize control and with it ceded public policy decisions to doctors. These were errors easily avoidable. Worse, now we're ignoring people pleading about not giving up on civil liberties through enormously problematic concepts of immunity passports.

We're on a very bad path.

So no. NO pass for the Canadian and Quebec governments.

They failed and now they must account. 

 

 

Independent Public Inquiry Must Be Created To Investigate Legault's Abuse Of Power; Cuomo's Immorality

As an ostensibly free and open democracy, Quebec must revisit the concept of emergency powers as should all of Canada.

Clearly there's a loophole in the Emergency Act that allows for public officials to exploit. 

It's 'For you own safety' has been turned into a means to end to simply remove our rights blocking us from living our lives.

Quebec has taken this power - that should used much more carefully - farther than any state or province on the continent. And without much scientific justification. The Legault government is just doing it because they can for political purposes. 

Clearly, Quebec officials have little regard for overall public health. If they think this is not stating to have severe psychological problems on people, that makes them complicit in the fraying of the social order.

Quebec is currently in a low prevalence environment. Even with the likely over blown fears of variants, hospitalizations are very low as are cases per capita show. Deaths are consistently in low double and single digits. If one death is too many for Covid, then the same must be said for deaths connected to vaccines, no?

The point is, this is potentially as good it will get as it stands. Society has to decide moving forward if it's willing to move forward open and free learning to cope and live with the virus, or it submits to fear living in a world of re-occurring lockdowns and masks. Obviously, this all depends how one perceives the danger of the virus. Clearly, there's a portion of the population that somehow thinks this virus is as depicted in March of 2020 defying all facts to the contrary. This group is all too accepting of measures. In fact, no measure is too many.

I have no idea if we're a population of sheep but we're acting like it.

Politicians were all too happy to exploit this and Legault has shown himself to be as cynical and cowardly as any politician on this front. The interesting part is Quebec saw the worst in 2020 and imposed less restrictions. The virus is clearly not behaving in the same manner yet the the government has added redundant measures. One can assert the numbers are low because of the measures, and to some degree it is correct but as studies have shown, the impact doesn't last long so at some point we're just left with the measures. And that's when it starts to reverse and impact negatively public health as a whole.

This is not rocket science people. This is supported by endless literature not only examining the current situation but going back decades.

Officials not only ignored established science and protocols but consolidated more power into their hands.

This is why, moving forward, we must hold inquiries. Legault must account for his decisions. The concept of emergency powers has to be reigned in, revisited and reconcpetualized because the precedence that has been set here is not a good one and condemns us to a repeat of this catastrophe.

Are 'wokism' and 'maskism' the natural end point of the 'unconstrained vision' of philosophy?

Rousseau, Owen, St-Simon, George Bernard Shaw, Godwin, Condorcet, the Fabian society, early 20th century progressives right up to critical theory are examples of such a vision.

A vision that seems restless and always at war with itself and outside itself. Constantly seeking 'what ought to be' without ever know what that ought to be.

A contraient view is far more restrained and prudent. It is less dramatic preferring to let life unfold naturally to arrive at a 'just society. It possesses a less cynical long term view of man. The unconstrained vision is less patient and trusting of man. It can't wait for wisdom to unfold.

The unconstrained vision has given us the war on the Muppets and the cult of the narcissist and rampant virtue-signalling and a revival of sophistry.

It abandoned the reason part (though still claiming to be 'following science') and has let emotion take control.

It has become a series of endless philosophical contradictions that can't possibly sustain itself but can be incredibly dangerous to society. 

A framework that envisions a world where only 'experts' are capable at reason leaving a society vulnerable to social policy in the hands of intellectual authority figures. 

Not exactly a group known for humility and common sense.

For example, how can they claim to have 'consensus' and 'love science' if they accept there are 72 genders? Or bizarre spins and notions of anti-racism now spreading in academia like wild fire. Masks have taken its own perverse place at the seat as it's being taught - sans preuves - of its alleged effectiveness.

Biden Didn't Get His 100 Day Mask Mandate So He Settled For War

Biden wanted people in masks for 'just 100 days'. Come on man. Soon he began saying beyond 2021. 

He got it to be enforced on Federal lands but 16 states have since rescinded the mandates.

Seeing this is probably a pipe dream now, Biden decided to bomb Syria. After four years of Middle-East peace, the USA under the Democrats have revved up the war machine once again. Arab nations are extremely concerned. They were given a framework to a stabilized region under Trump with Iran kept in check and peace deals with Israel. The Democrats have come in and ripped that up.

Notice the moral contradiction here. Wear a mask, save lives. Drop bombs....profit?

Quebec's Behavior Not Surprising

Canada's weakest link is the 'notwithstanding clause' in the Charter. It was an 'opt-out' clause devised as a concession to placate Quebec.

In hindsight, what Canada should have done is refuse and let Quebec go as a matter of principle because the clause not only diluted our rights it practically rendered moot making the government and not the people as final arbiters of our inherent rights. 

Consider it Quebec's gift to North America. Just read how a judge ruled against a plaintiff here to know how the province views civl rights and privacy. 

Guess which region in North America has imposed the most severe restrictions on the continent?

Quebec doesn't respect civil liberties. How can it given how it views rights judging by its actions?

Quebec always chooses the collective over the individual and as such it makes liberty secondary. You can't be both collectivist and free at the same time.

Francois Legault Continues His Reign Of Irrational And Anti-Science Terror

Legault has turned Quebec into a pariah.

Quebecers don't see it - apparently - but he has.

This province has the most excessive measures of any region in North America and among the worst in the West. Montreal is the ONLY major city in the west to still not permit in-house dining AND is the only city in the continent in a curfew. 

Cases and deaths have dropped everywhere on the continent and yet these buffoons  - and other brains dead clowns who support them mostly in media and some pundits - think our numbers dropped because of curfews.

It's worth mentioning in Nature a study shows - and there several like it - measures have a limited life span before they revert to limited impact. For example, you could see a drop in something but its effectiveness is limited - perhaps within two or three weeks - and bound to have no impact. So we may have seen cases drop during the curfew but now we've plateaued. Now what? 

Legault has this province running in direct opposition to UN and WHO conventions. Quebec literally undertakes measures that run against the grain of data and science! 

Today he obscenely double down on masks on kids - saying he 'believes' they work. I don't care what he 'believes'. I want to see him PROVE it and tell the public where he's getting his information - while not being able to explain why he has kept this stupid curfews in place.

The mask phenomena is something to behold. What was considered to be the weakest of the NPI has become the first line of defence. To believe masks work is to be ignorant and to enforce it is to maintain fear. There is nothing humane or compassionate in compulsory mask wearing. Compelling people - let alone children - into them is wrong on numerous levels as noted many times on this blog including the terrible message it sends, the fear factor and the potential harmful impacts including concern given they're made with carcinogens like polypropylene.  

Legault is just doing this because a) he can and b) he's probably an asshole.

Quebec may think itself proud and advanced, but they're a laughing stock and a pariah.

As Texas becomes the latest state to drop the mask mandates and open up, Quebec despite a good situation continues to act like it's March 2020.

Here, Health Minister Dube declares 'We're very afraid' and 'it's the calm before the storm'.

What kind of leadership is this? Who talks this way scaring people in this manner? Fear is the last refuge of scoundrels and the CAQ under Legault are acting the part.

The opposite of pre-emptive strikes against worst-case scenarios are adaptive strategies that respond to emerging diseases of any nature based on the evidence of observed virulence and the effectiveness of control measures. This requires more generic capacity for disease surveillance, problem identification, risk assessment, risk communication and health-care response.1 Such strengthened general capacity can respond to all health emergencies, not just influenza. Resources are scarce and need to be allocated to many competing priorities. Scientific advice on resource allocation is best handled by generalists with a comprehensive view on health. Disease experts wish to capture public attention and sway resource allocation decisions in favour of the disease of their interest. We referred previously to the principles of guidance on health by the British National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE),2cited as “We make independent decisions in an open, transparent way, based on the best available evidence and including input from experts and interested parties.”8Support from disease experts is crucial in delivering opinion, scholarly advice and evidence to a team of independent general scientists. But this team should independently propose decisions to policy-makers and be held accountable for them.

The key to responsible policy-making is not bureaucracy but accountability and independence from interest groups. Decisions must be based on adaptive responses to emerging problems, not on definitions. WHO should learn to be NICE: accountable for reasonableness in a process of openness, transparency and dialogue with all the stakeholders, and particularly the public.9
