Sportsnet Writer Jeff Blair Triggered By Alex Ovechkin's Support Of Putin

Since the election of Donald Trump, to us on the sober and sane side of the line, the progressive left has lost its mind. Right off the bat this point needs to be made clear.

It has reached a point where sports writers and talk show hosts are in on the act now.

Lucky us.

What's worse, they think theirs is a 'centrist' or 'moderate' thinking; one in which reason is clearly in their corner.

It's not.

It's borne from a stagnant progressive perspective outside the lines of reason.

Jeff Blair penned a remarkable example over at Sportsnet of where we're at at this junction in our civil discourse.

I never much cared for Blair personally.

Since I don't read his stuff and he bothered me none.

Until now.

Why sports writers feel the need to impart their political views - especially banal ones - is beyond me.

I attempt here to deconstruct his article. I just want to add reading through his piece was like removing sludge from my sewer.  So it was not an enjoyable process. He added nothing to the intellectual process.

And aaaawaaaaay we go!

"Among many inconvenient truths..."

Oh, God this is not off to a good start.

"...to surface out of the mire of our current political discourse is the reaffirmation that your favourite athlete might not only fail to share your politics or world-view: he or she might in fact hold ideas that are diametrically opposed to it."

Right. Like this started the second Trump was elected. This is going to be like cutting through pounds of fat.

"Like Alexander Ovechkin: proud Russian; proud Putin lackey.

Wo! That ad hominen came out of nowhere. Sounds like Alex triggered Jeff.

Surely Jeff will enlighten us to back up this assertion. Let's read on to find out.

I have a feeling Blair's take on 'inconvenient truths' translates into 'everyone is a deplorable who doesn't disagree with me'.

"...I doubt if anybody looked at the action on the ice, diamond or field and thought ‘hit that bastard Democrat forward’ or ‘run over that damned Republican piece of …’ well, you get the picture."

No. No I don't. And I have a university degree! I smell a set up.

"...I mean, poor Connor McDavid and his friend dress up as Donald and Melania Trump for Halloween (badly, I might add) and social media has a kitten. I guess there’s a chance that McDavid was being ironic"

I fail to see the point of drawing McDavid into this and how dressing up as Trump is 'ironic'. I think irony is more of a literary tool but perhaps in McDavid's case....bah. Who gives a shit about the motive?

Dressing up as Michael Myers or Dracula can be 'ironic', no?

'...At any rate, the Edmonton Oilers captain is now probably aware that in great wide swaths of the world Donald Trump’s poisoning of the public discourse means he is viewed as being nothing short of evil; that the sores Trump delights in opening and then poking and then rubbing salt into are not laughing matters."

Conor. Don't dress like Trump because Jeff says he's poisonous. Got it?

Moving along.

First Ovechkin gets blindsided and now...Trump!

And it's epic. Remember, the left has been squawking on about 'civil public discourse' since Bush all the while engaging in some of the most arrogant, violent and vile rhetoric. I don't ever recall conservatives making movies calling for the assassination of a President or conservative personalities holding the severed head of a President or putting a dead President on a bed with a toe tag on an album cover.

THIS is the modern progressive MO.

But it's all 'just a joke' right? Ironic perhaps as Jeff would say? Hey, don't take me seriously Jon Stewart once exclaimed ! I'm just a jester!

Anyway. Nothing assuages poisoned public discourse by calling a sitting President evil without a shred of evidence.

"Donald Trump is real world evil. The laughing ended months ago."

*Updated: I happened upon Trump's speech to the military in Japan. It was quite quite good in its diplomatic tone and delivery. It was also full of praise and respect for Japan. He's so *evil* the military enthusiastically receives and cheers him. Unlike Obama where you could hear a pin drop. I can just imagine the glazed over looks whenever the gasbag spoke. Conversely, Trump is  so much more at ease speaking off the cuff before the military. When you believe and respect something, it will show.

Real world evil. As opposed to fake world.

That's erm...that's a big mozza stick to be leaving out there, Jeff. Hey, one could even say stupid.

I would love to see Jeff's reasons and cites for this. He just knows this to be true because who in their right mind could think otherwise?

Perhaps, 60 million Americans?  You know, those icky people duped by Russian ads and hacking.

Millions of people, even smart ones Jeff, don't think he's evil. Strange how his Dr. Evil skills never came up given he has been in the public sphere for, what, 30 plus years now?

Hillary on the other hand. I bring her up because she was the alternative. Hillary Clinton is perhaps one of the most corrupted and sleazy politicians in contemporary American politics. From her and Bill's crooked days in Arkansas all the way to her orchestrating the murder of Khaddafy that led to a major human migrant crisis to her pay to play foundation racked with allegations of money laundering and shady politicking while Secretary of State to her scandalous and breathtaking arrogance of maintaining a private unsecured server to her dubious handling of Benghazi to her own dealings with Russia to her cynical attempts to connect to a segment of the population she characterized as 'deplorables' to her complete breakdown and inability to accept defeat with any level of integrity.

And that's just scratching the surface. She is, according to former staffers, just a miserable person to work with and for.

Hillary is no leader. She's in it for Hillary Inc.

She's as close to evil as they come Jeff my boy. You calling Trump 'evil' is about as rich as it can get even

What can we say about Obama? Here are the facts: Under his watch, the DNC ended up broke and lost over 1000 seats. The economy grew at its most anemic pace (around 1%) in the post-war era. Welfare recipients grew while the deficit exploded. His administration engaged in scandals that saw an innocent blamed and thrown in prison for the attack on Benghazi, Fast & Furious which was a gun running program into Mexico and swapped five high-level terrorists for a deserter with mental illness in Bo Bagdahl - without Congressional approval. Where the Supreme Court is concerned, he lost every single case with a 9-0 decision. Strange for a constitutional lecturer, wouldn't you say?

What should though, concern you Jeff, was his abuse of the press pursuing them aggressively to reveal sources while prosecuting whistleblowers.  His 'most transparent administration in history' made the press's job all the more difficult with his stonewalling of FOIA. Oh, turns out he did spy on Trump. In fact, the NSA spying program expanded under his watch. He also tried to make the transition as rough as possible.

Then comes his incoherent foreign policy moves and decisions. From his interference with Brexit and in the Ukraine to the attack of Libya without Congress support to his 'red line' debacle that basically saw Russia usurp power from the United States in the Middle-East to his ousting of Mubarak that ushered in the Muslim Brotherhood to his surge in Afghanistan to the expansion of land and power by ISIS to alienating Eastern Europe to questionable treaties with Cuba and Iran, the Obama Doctrine was a complete and utter aimless mess.

Never mind that he admitted to a 'secret kill list' drone killing Americans without due process. he's the first President to have been at war every single day and dropped over 100 000 bombs in seven countries - the same seven countries he identified as a threat that Trump used for his temporary travel ban as was logical.

Despite African-Americans closing ranks with him, what exactly did he do to alleviate the pain and violence in inner-cities? His own hometown of Chicago continues to be a blithe on the American landscape with its unseemly murder rate. The same in places like Detroit and Baltimore. All places, it's worth mentioning, are ruled by a dynastic Democrat political machine.

Capped off by Obamacare that brought to the forefront the notion, once again, that government couldn't manage a lemon stand. A 2400 page monstrosity that was passed without a single GOP vote that was poorly rolled out and was even challenged in court. It also produced the 'lie of the year' with his 'you can keep your doctor' line. In addition to watching premiums shoot up despite having promised his program would 'save $2500 in premiums'.

Finally comes all the aloof, blasé  banal and bewildering rhetoric that was less oratorical and more of a showcase of a man with shallow intellectual skills and little wisdom.

As he attacked capitalism and entrepreneurs, he managed to score himself a sweet $65 million book deal. He told Christians to 'get off their high horse' and gun advocates as 'bitter clingers' and claimed Muslims played a key roll in America's early rise. He said the police 'acted stupidly' and claimed 'if he had a son he would look like Trayvon'.

This was no statesman. This was a man engaging in class and cultural warfare. He wasn't kidding when he said he wanted to transform America.

Let's no longer kid ourselves he had any talent to bring people together. His enforcing of Title IX and decision to not help that kid held captive in North Korea and the threatening of families who wanted to negotiate the return of their sons back only to be killed by the terrorists who captured them aren't examples of someone who put humanism first one could argue.

The first reality President was too busy shmoozing celebrity culture to have any real principles. But hey, what do you care right? Even Ellen didn't seem to mind that Obama wasn't a supporter of gay marriage - until it was politically safe to do so.

Just some FACTS (and opinions of course) off the top of my head. FACTS that should have been implanted inside the head of someone who claims to be informed.

Yet somehow we're supposed to be scared of Trump and some of his ridiculous Tweets likely designed to flush out people like you Jeff?

I took offense to a lot of what Obama, Hillary and Trudeau say and do. I happen to think they were a trio of over rated (and corrupted) dimwits. But the difference is I didn't insult people to their faces like this.

Serious Jeff. And you have the courage to pen such tripe?

"....Which brings us to Ovechkin, who was all over the news this weekend for the remarkably magnanimous act of buying clothes for a homeless man he encountered in Edmonton, where the Capitals were playing the Oilers. Feeding and clothing the less fortunate in society ought to be the charge for all of us; along with providing shelter it is the most immediate thing we can do to change a person’s circumstance in real time and Ovechkin showed a massive heart in doing so...."

But I'm still gonna rip him anyway because gosh darnit...well, I'm not...sure.

"...Thursday, Ovechkin announced via social media that he has formed something called ‘Putin Team,’ and is quoted on Instagram as announcing it by saying: “I have never hidden my attitude towards our president, always openly supporting him. I am confident that there are many of us, supporting Vladimir Putin. So let’s unite and show everyone a united and strong Russia!”

Which is his right, of course, not to mention wholly unsurprising. Putin is, among many other things, a plutocrat who keeps track of those with fame and wealth, especially when they can be an enabler: either in lining his own pockets or furthering his attempts to create a new Russian empire which is often one and the same thing."

And this is different how from how Obama rubbed elbows with celebrities exactly again, Jeff? How is it, again, any of your damn business?

"My guess is Ovechkin really believes this stuff, and that he does so even knowing that the current political climate in the United States gives an element of risk to what he’s done. Ovechkin spent much of the post-election cycle attempting to maintain a public non-stance on matters related to U.S. politics and continued assertions of Russian interference. Alas, that veneer has been dropped. I don’t know who Ovechkin is an ally or enemy of in the culture war in which we are now engaged – and that’s what it is, folks, an out and out culture war where we all need to pick sides or have them picked for us – but I have a pretty good guess."

And your guess should have been kept to yourself because you sound like shrill child. Why Sportsnet thought this was worth publishing is unfortunate.

Yes, Jeff. There is a culture war but you can go fuck yourself as if the only options are the ones you assume and present. I tell you one thing. I sure as hell won't be on your side. Not if this is the extent of your critical thinking skills.

It doesn't get better folks.

"He’s still a helluva player, though, and on most nights very much worth the entertainment dollar. Look: I know for a fact there are popular – hugely popular – athletes in this city who voted for Donald Trump."
Good of you to remind us he's a great player. But damn he supports Putin, eh?

Such hard nosed journalism there, Jeff. I know a couple myself. And know what else? If I were American, I would have voted either Johnson or Trump. Know why? Because I know how to ween through garbage and see the whole story.

"Truth is, there are a lot of people who make a crap-load of money who voted with their pocketbook,"
NO! /clutches pearls. How dare these people!?

Some may say, an 'inconvenient truth', eh Jeff. Thank God we have your properly calibrated political screws to tell us.

"...and in case you haven’t noticed, an an awful lot of NFL players haven’t hitched their wagon to Colin Kaepernick’s cause and as far as I can tell few if any Major League players took up with Bruce Maxwell or NHL players J.T. Brown."
And they be rational and intelligent. It's their call to make. Not yours. Other than that, not sure to make of what he's trying to convey here. Sounds like he thinks they should support them (thus risking their own livelihoods) lest the be misogynist racists. Who knows? It's not like the protests have any clear message, right? Or that they're rooted in clunky faulty premises.  I wonder if he thinks Papa John's is racist for claiming sales have been damaged by the NFL. Who knows how the modern progressives thinks anymore?

FYI: Bruce Maxwell was just arrested in Arizona for pulling a gun out on a delivery woman.

"I hate to tell you this, but it’s possible that your favourite athlete is a misogynist or a homophobe or racist even if he doesn’t put it on a t-shirt. More to the point: I can guarantee that even if you’d cross the street to avoid a Trump supporter, you’ve gone crazy and cried for and died with a player who voted for Trump and that you’ll do it again next season and the season after and that you’d do it even if you knew he gave money to Trump."
Jesus, what in the hell?

What kind of people 'cross the street to avoid a Trump supporter' anyway? I can guarantee you one thing, Jeff, Trump supporters aren't all what you imagine them to be in your Canadian liberal mindset. I've even met a few! Thoughtful as hell. More than anything you display in your article truth be told. Why, I guess I can say it's an...inconvenient truth?

You seriously need to see someone for your TDS. It makes you sound like a pompous jackass with not over-arching point except to use your platform to rant. Hate to break it you Jeff, but you come off sounding like an idiot.
"...Because you’re a fan and unless you are gullible enough to still believe there’s some sort of moral or spiritual underpinning to professional sports, some sort of life-changing intrinsic goodness to be found in it, you understand the meal satisfies your need without knowing each individual ingredient."
God, how tedious and childish. Could you be anymore an insufferable prick?

From a professional writer no less.

You know, I wrote all this when 'oh fuck off' would have done just fine.

On a positive, because it's always good for your health to remain upbeat,  at least Blair didn't call Trump a Nazi!

*****

It's worth noting the media (and please let's not pretend they're not liberal anymore. Every time a sports writer like Blair enters the political foray they show themselves to be liberal hacks) and the progressive left have by designed done everything in their power to manufacture outrage at every turn. The list of retractions and falsehoods published at WaPo and NYT has been staggering to the point of borderline treason (see Russia narrative and the work of investigative journalists who have challenged legacy papers on their behaviour).

He just added to the *poisoned climate* he so derides laced with some lazy 'inconvenient truths' and 'hate to tell you'.

If I were Jeff, I'd lay off the TDS on full display and focus more on what the current batch of amateurs running Canada at the moment. Trudeau and the Liberals have been quite adept at their own brand of divisive politics engaging in, among other things class warfare as shown by their tax proposals that clearly target SMEs (while being exposed to astonishing levels of arrogance of conflict of interests). Not to mention their odious 'SJW narratives' and anti-science bills on gender and their attacks on free speech via Motion-103.

This was a hit piece laced with empty virtue-signalling, unsubstantiated claims and unprovoked attacks passing off as reasoned discourse.

It's also flimsy and unravels under the most basic of scrutiny.

In other words, just another screed that has become all too common in the Age of Trump.

If this keeps up, don't be surprised if Trump further consolidates power and wins in 2020 while the GOP wins still more seats in the House and Senate.

I find it hard to believe reasoned minds are going to tolerate this nonsense much longer.

Now go write about breaking balls and pitch counts Jeff.

Trudeau: Mr. Narratives

It's always worth keeping in mind when Trudeau does something it's less about principles and more about maintaining current progressive narratives.

Once you get this, his manner of governance makes sense. Don't look for decisions rooted in principles. Look for the driving narrative.

For example:

"The Canadian government has reached an out-of-court settlement of $100,000 with the daughter of a woman who was subjected to horrific MKUltra brainwashing experiments funded by the CIA in Canada."

100k for being outside the narrative.

But if you're inside the narrative, you get $10 million like Omar Khadar.

Mr. Morneau Must Resign

MP Pierre Poilievre gives proper and much needed speech in Parliament.

Morneau doesn't even know how to deflect properly.

Mr. Morneau must resign.

Next up, non-confidence vote against PM Trudeau.

This is a non-transparent, dysfunctional and unprofessional government running on feel-good empty platitudes.

Thought Of The Day

"Everyone's an asshole these days'. T.C.

In reference to people who over react to everything.

Those people can go fuck themselves.

NFL Protests: Of Ignorance, Arrogance And Faux Outrage

Once again people have over reacted to something said by someone in a private setting.

The story of Houston Texans owner Bob McNair has drawn the ire of his own players for a common saying we all use.

But apparently it's now, on the fly, considered a racist comment.

What did he say?

'We can't let the inmates run the prison'.

That's it.

Now. A couple of things.

We've taken to assuming - without much thought or proof - to *knowing* what people mean or infer whenever they make a statement. Too often, we jump on people only to find out there was a perfectly fair and reasonable explanation. You would think we'd learn after holding the bag of embarrassment.

But nooooo.

Still, McNair seemed to know off the bat he chose the wrong words and understood it could be taken wrongly and apparently immediately apologized to a former player who was in the room.

Yet, without considering the context and keeping perspective, his own players (and illiterate people in perpetual outrage mode) have thought it smart to attack their owner despite his apology and explanation as they kneeled during the anthem before their game against the Seattle Seahawks.

DeAndre Hopkins - a player McNair gave a six-year $90 million dollar contract with half of it guaranteed money - has been especially vocal.

At this point, it seems they'll take a knee for anything they take offense to.

If I'm the owner - and I own a business - I read employees the riot act and remind them of their place. An owner HAS TO CONTROL his or her business.

The bottom line in all this is the players need to learn their place and do their jobs.

They largely do not have support of the fans and, I'm guessing, level headed people who respect the owner-employee line - black or white. Wouldn't surprise me if educated, smart blacks aren't buying into this nonsense either.

As for the phrase itself. Here's a Wiki entry:

Etymology[edit]

Said to originate in a remark by Richard A. Rowland about the founding of United Artists.

Phrase[edit]

(the) lunatics have taken over the asylum
  1. Said of a situation in which those in charge are incapable of handling their responsibilities, and should rather be put under scrutiny themselves.

Yet, it magically has become a leitmotif for black justice?

Here's the NFL arrest data-base. All 870 arrests.

32 of those in 2017. Granted, this can be interpreted this proves their point. It would be worth the exercise if in fact these arrests were legit and not due to reasons of injustice.

Now of course we should treat this carefully.

Nonetheless, it's worth noting statistically, whites are more likely to be killed by police and blacks than the other way around and that black on black violence remains a major societal and cultural issue facing that community.

Until we realize this is a police reform question and not uniquely a racial one, nothing will ever get done.

This is without doubt a case of much ado about nothing. A possible case of projection and irrational thinking; one in which hampers whatever message they want to get across by refusing all Americans face this issue.

If this be a trigger, we're clearly on a path to a paranoid populace too afraid to speak.

McNair didn't need to apologize. In fact, he doesn't owe anyone an apology. His players can take their contracts and go play elsewhere if it displeases them.

He, after all, signs their checks.

Stats Wednesday

I've been meaning to revive 'Stats Day' for a couple of years. Alas, this year has been quite busy; plus I've been overwhelmed by the sheer pace of irrational activity I've been witnessing in the media.

I'm backed up on my 'Daily Derp' segment but I'll be posting them as well where my 'Fall of the West' segment has been embedded for the time being. There's also the very strange and possibly disturbing the facts surrounding the Las Vegas murder spree which I hope to at least link to some articles regarding it.

Anyway, back in August I was in New Hampshire visiting a couple of friends as we took in a Norm MacDonald show. On the drive to the shooting range I learned the fine and free state of NH is the only state in the USA that doesn't have a 'primary enforcement' seat beat law. In other words, it's up to to you.

As proper.

Naturally, I asked my friend (who used the seat belt) if the rate of automobile accident deaths was higher than other states. He flatly said, 'no it isn't.'

So I checked the numbers out and discovered he's right.

New Hampshire is 39th in deaths per 100 000.

Of the 34 states that have a primary law, NH ranks 12th. However, among its neighbouring New England states (Vermont and Massachusetts have secondary enforcement), it's in the middle with the 3rd highest fatality rates. New York and New Jersey (both primary) are also lower.

Morneau MUST Resign NOW And The Facade Of The Liberal Party Of Canada

My apolitical always likes to ask whenever a politician does something hypocritical, contradictory or just plain stupid. "How can they think no one will find out?"

Human hubris is a bitch I can but reply.

I think most people can accept politicians are flawed just like the rest of us. However, we they're becoming more impatient with is the moralizing and hypocritical behaviour.

And the Liberal party of Canada has been excelling on this front. Limousine liberals as it were not unlike celebrities and politicians like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders in the USA.

Justin Trudeau is fast losing the SJW narrative shtick and his fatal mistake was allowing his Finance Minister to pump up the class warfare gibberish the Liberals are more than happy to engage in.

As if the Liberals 'loophole' tax proposals that basically makes middle class business owners feel like they're cheating the system wasn't enough, now it's been discovered Bill Morneau engaged in his something far more problematic than the 'loopholes' (say what you want about the CBC being a spokesperson for the Trudeau liberals, the comments are having none of it. Give them credit. They're not like Obama cultists we see at the NYT. Unlike them, CBC readers exhibit some independent thought) they're trying to close (i.e. rob more money from Canadians to pay for their spending projects). How full blown communist are they? They want to tax employee discounts.

This discrepancy in what they preach and what they do also reared its ugly head in the Weinstein scandal. Progressives over reacted to Romney's 'binders of women' (which was actually highlighting a pro-women point) they're actually projecting because when it comes to sexual abuse and the 'war on women' no one does it better than progressives (including racism I might add).

Let me be frank, blunt and clear about Morneau and Trudeau.

Trudeau is a trust fun millionaire. He has never run a business and couldn't care less about the middle class SMEs because he needs their tax money to pay for his spending policies. Morneau is the son of the founder of Morneau-Sheppel and was already a multi-millionaire before he married into the McCain family making him a billionaire.

These two DO NOT represent the interest of small business.

They came up with a scheme to attack perfectly legitimate tax advantages small business owners have earned by way of capital risk and hard work used to fund their retirement.

As you know, small business owners don't have company pensions and other luxuries so this is why the system is logically set up as it is. It's outrageous the Liberals (and let's be clear, these are not your mother's liberal party) would attack this.

Meanwhile, Morneau waited a couple of years to declare international holdings (and shell corporations) he has been profiting off (shades of Warren who profited off foreclosed homes in Massachusetts) which is in direct violation of the law.

What was he thinking indeed.

The uber-rich who turn socialist don't have our best interest at heart in my view. They're just interested in soothing their own egos and souls.

People aren't stupid. They're tuning out to the incoherent, lack of self-awareness rantings of people like Hillary. It's like she's living in her own 'alt-reality' and the media and her sycophants are enabling this clownish and idiotic behaviour.

All this to say, the Trudeau liberals lack values, are engaging in stupid class warfare only to reveal the usual hypocrisy we've come accustomed to.

Time for Morneau and Trudeau to knock it off and a good start is with the former's resignation.

The Progressive Economic Equation In A Nutshell

The zero sum thinking of economic illiterates.

Rich people = stole wealth or exploited workers = hoarding money = not paying fair wage = income and (now) asset inequality.

Ergo and ipso facto (White Goodman's favorite phrase), it's totes appropriate to take (steal) from the rich to give back and "fix" inequality and make things "equal".

This is essentially the gist of their thinking.

No depth.

No Nuance.

All envy.

A Hypocrite Is Born Starring Ben Affleck And Alec Baldwin

Either Hollywood elites are that dumb or out to lunch or....okay moving along.

Here is a story about Ben Affleck doing his Kimmel Tears impression talking about the horror that is Harvey Weinstein.

Wait. You actually thought him blathering about it was the hook? You don't know me very well, do you?

What's hilarious is no sooner does he chime in with his faux-moral gibberish he gets accused of...being inappropriate himself.

To which he then apologizes. He's sorry he was caught I'm sure.

And then enters Alec Baldwin. The poster pugilist stereotype of the temperamental Irishman always with his dukes up looking to fight shadows and demons.

He who mocks Donald Trump - out of moral outrage of course because truth to power - and garners cheap childish laughs on SNL in a showcase of insufferable virtue signalling.

Hope you're enjoying your Medal of Freedom Lorne because you sure as hell sold your sense of humour to partisanship and it shows all over the Trump resistance show you call comedy.

Baldwin is caught, again,  on video acting like a complete idiot this time calling someone a 'meatball'.

Remember people, these are the people leading the 'resistance'.

Grow up you nitwits.

The Astonishing Rot And Hypocrisy Of Hollywood

We all knew Hollywood is infested with amoral and immoral hypocrites.

It's a place where deception beats reality into submission.

So do stories like the one we're hearing about Harvey Weinstein really surprise anyone? Nor does the outcry from celebrities condemning his actions.

But when we pay close attention and delve deeper into what celebrities are saying, we see a rot of pathetic hypocrisy.

That vice trumps virtue in Hollywood is the rule and not the exception so it does ring a tad hollow whenever we hear celebs act in shocked indignation when it comes to immoral behaviour.

We've been hearing rumours about such stories for years and decades. It's one of those 'wink, wink shut up here's your cheque' things. A terribly held secret if you prefer.

I don't know squat about the internal machinations of Hollywood, but simple observation and research gives me - and people as a whole - an idea.

It seems the more they moralized wagging their degenerate wagging fingers at people (especially since Trump's election), the more it became apparent they were full of shit brought to its breathtakingly and achingly arrogant heights by one Meryl Streep.

With each passing Kimmel Tear, the endless stream of arrogant didactics and clear progressive leanings, it becomes apparent they care more about principals and less about principles.

These are no heroes. They're cowards.

And so it is with them chiming in on the scum that is Harvey Weinstein offering their 'shock' and 'disgust'.

What a shameless crock.

George Clooney once gave a self-congratulatory, bum tapping speech about the progressiveness of Hollywood in American civil society. People with their minds properly calibrated in possession of a principled moral and intellectual compass could but raise a Bugs Bunny eyebrow.

But what about all the pain Hollywood inflicts on people?

Where are the voices that speak on behalf of the victims? Why don't they speak out about sexual abuse in their industry before a story like this breaks out? Instead, they do stupid videos in support of Hillary Clinton (hardly a friend to women).

I'll tell you why. Because it could impact their bottom line. No one wants to rock the boat into their next big gig. Few, if any, put their money where their money is when it matters most.

Better to virtue signal in the political realm attacking Republican presidents than actually do something of value. It's always interesting to note the alleged 'war on women' is an example of progressive projection on the matter. They scream it's by the hands of regressive Republicans, yet, such unfortunate stories come with their fair share of the letter 'D' attached to it.

In the Age of the Unhinged (c. AD Trump), celebrities have particularly dropped their masks and gone for broke in their insufferable lecturing and insulting of fellow citizens.

Better to rail about climate change from the comforts of their jets while shielded by the media than to do the right thing where their careers could be jeopardized. Or shout behind a mic and virtue signal about how bad Trump is as they play guitar.

It's about, as noted above,  the money. The adoration. The fame.

They're addicted to it because their celebrities. They need and crave it. Who in their right and rational mind would forsake and jeopardize that over Harvey Weinstein? A powerful man - thought clearly of weak moral fibre - who could make you famous like Stalin!

They've literally jumped the shark. I can't turn the TV on with some self-proclaimed twit leading their own private resistance. Meyers, Kimmel, Colbert, SNL - whatever.

They've become nauseating.

These are the folks who gave Roman Fucken Polanski a standing ovation. A person who inspired Whoopi to say his actions weren't 'rape rape'.

Oh, the lengths they'll go to protect their own!

Ans so, this special cabal of popular celebs saying they're horrified knowing the cess pool of libertine smut they operate in is rich and is not an act of heroism or dignified. It's useless and cowardly.

Alas, it won't stop, I'm sure People or Time from putting Paltrow on the cover of their publications with a 'My Stuggle' hook.

For a bunch that does a whole lot of lecturing and talking, they sure know how to under whelm in their actions. South Park, as usual, did a masterful job of exposing them for who they are.

Then again, should we be surprised for a breed whose job is to deceive?

They can all spare us their bull shit and shut the hell up.

Death Of Che: An Anniversary Worth Remembering

One of humanity's most curious character traits is the romanticizing of criminals. It's no different with the murderous thug Che Guevara.

50 years ago the Bolivian army did the forces of good, decency and freedom a favour in killing Che Guevara.

Babbage's White Privileged Mind

Have you heard? Western achievement is all a ruse; a lie.
"Charles Babbage, (1791–1871) was an English mathematician, philosopher, inventor and mechanical engineer who originated the concept of a programmable computer. Considered the “father of the computer”, Babbage is credited with inventing the first mechanical computer that eventually led to more complex designs. Babbage himself decided that he wanted his brain to be donated to science upon his death. In a letter accompanying the donation, his son Henry wrote:
I have no objection…to the idea of preserving the brain…Please therefore do what you consider best…[T]he brain should be known as his, and disposed of in any manner which you consider most conducive to the advancement of human knowledge and the good of the human race."

Why...I....How dare he?!

We don't need his brain because science is an unwoke social construct with parameters set down by white people who stole and did not give credit to indigenous ideas.

I think that's the gist of social justice middling murmurings.

About NRA Lobbying: Take That For Data

As Jimmy Kimmel's tears makes him the darling of the hysterical left, here are some facts about the NRA and its alleged lobbying.

The top industries spend anywhere between $1 (including Kimmel's own TV/movie industry to which he collects a check and uses to pay for his own private security most Americans can't afford) and $3 billion on lobbying. That's billion.

The NRA spends a paltry $3 million. That's million.

The NRA's strengths lie in its numbers. Millions make up its membership making it one of the most legitimate institutions in America. You can call them names and claim they have 'blood on their hands' all you want, but it doesn't make for an argument.

Jimmy listen. Quivering and meandering about incoherently while emoting is not an argument.

Gem quote of ignorance of the day:

"[O]ur scientific educations almost never talk about the invention of whiteness and the invention of race in tandem with the early scientific method which placed a high value on taxonomies—which unsurprisingly and almost certainly not coincidentally supported prevailing social views. The standard history of science that is taught to budding scientists is that during the Enlightenment, Europe went from the dark ages to, well, being enlightened by a more progressive mindset characterized by objective “science.” It is the rare scientific education that includes a simultaneous conversation about the rise of violent, imperialist globalization during the same time period. Very few curricula acknowledge that some European scientific “discoveries” were in fact collations of borrowed indigenous knowledge. And far too many universally call technology progress while failing to acknowledge that it has left us in a dangerously warmed climate.Much of the science that resulted from this system, conducted primarily by white men, is what helped teach us that women were the inferior sex."

So. If science is 'white' and it should not be accepted, then why do they accept the 'science' on climate change?

Isn't that a product of 'white culture'?

Other than that, it's a ridiculous paragraph of rubbish.

Hey Jimmy, will you shed a tear for the Weinstein's victims you humanist you?

I'm sure plenty of your pals in Hollywood turned a blind eye to that piece of shit.

So woke you all are. So filled with moral justice. The projection that comes from the progressive celebrity culture is plain for all to see by now.

They all cover for each other. That's what they do. It's been alleged Matt Damon and Russel Crowe pressured a NYT reporter - Sharon Waxman - to not publish a negative article about Weinstein.

Such compassionate humanists they all are.

Hollywood Democrats: Loving their war on women.

That's one swamp that needs draining. I doubt Weinstein is an exception here. I can just imagine the rot and the depravity that goes on in Hollywood. And it wouldn't surprise me how many activist and political celebrities know about it (and there's been a sexual child abuse rumour going around for years). I hope their collective conscience eats them from within.

The genius of Michelle Obama:
"...Tuesday at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women,  she said when she attended the State of the Union address she would notice the Republican side was “all men, all white,” and that was why she argued many people of color “don’t trust politics.”
Speaking about diversity, she said, “We should be working actively to mix it up, so we’re getting a real broad range of perspectives on every issue. Shoot, I would see that in Congress.”
She explained, “At the State of the Union address … when you are in the room what you can see is this real dichotomy. It’s a feeling of color almost. On one side of the room is literally gray and white. Literally, that is the color palette on one side of the room. On the other side of the room, there are yellows and blues and whites and greens. Physically, there’s a difference in color, in the tone, because on one side all men, all white, on the other side some woman, some people of color.” She continued, “I look at that, and I go, no wonder. No wonder we struggle, no wonder people don’t trust politics. We’re not even noticing what these rooms look like.”
I take it she's back to no longer being proud of her country?

Quote Of The Day

We all know the end game fro progressives is to confiscate guns. That's why we're seeing more and more of them get more brazen in calling to repeal or amend the Second Amendment.

It's what they want. 'Common sense' gun control is just an empty ruse to get to that point. They will, in the process, mischaracterized, reinterpret or revise (if not lie) and pull out of context to fit their narrative the 'original intent' of said amendment. It's what they do.

Know how the other thinks and operates I say. The best way to immune oneself from their meddling intellectualism is to be armed with the facts and knowledge. They prey on the general ignorance or lack of understanding of the past. The 'truth' is of little consequence. Basing modern public policy on faulty premises is of little concern for such an 'urgent' public malaise.

The ends will justify the means.

Which brings me to the quote of the day:

“I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.”-George Mason
The left, once again, don't consider the 'unseen'. Just a distorted version of what they see while reacting emotional to it. Jimmy Kimmel unwittingly has become the poster boy for this sort of childish and anti-intellectual reasoning.

********

My cousin (may he RIP) asked me years ago why I keep finding "good, honest girlfriends".

I replied, 'I don't date women who cheat on their partners. If they're doing it to them, they're going to do it to you.'

I feel that way with progressives and the way they treat The Constitution. If they're willing to cheat on it, they will cheat on you.

The Moral And Intellectual Depravity Of The U.N. - An Organization Whose Time Has Come

Ah, the United Nations. Where Kafka meets Beavis and Butthead to create a Bizarro scenario.

As if there isn't enough farcical nonsense that comes from this tired and anti-Israel organization where the lunatics run the asylum.

An organism that permits countries with terrible human rights records sit on a council for human rights is an organism without credibility. In its pathetic game of moral platitudes wagging its finger at Israel, it reveals itself as a black hole of morality.

It deserves to be mocked and chastises.

The Israeli representative asked pertinent and important questions. Whoever that chick is presenting, she backed up her assertions with jack shit and even ended it with a 'fuck you because I say so'. It's so breathtakingly astonishing in its moral and intellectual depravity, it actually is troubling.

Soooo, this is where we are. This is the general stance of the U.N. is 'Israel made me do it'.

The U.N. is a place run by and for assholes.

Man, the man from Egypt chairing the council can go fuck himself. The representative showed no respect.

NOW ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION.

Quotes Of The Day

On the execution of six Tsarskoye Selo peasants by Stalin communists for taking "little clippings of hay" after a day's work.

"...Stalin belongs to the world communist movement!" But in my opinion all he belongs to is the Criminal Code."

Rock Heartbroken

J Geils, Bowie, Harrison, Lou Reed...Petty.....

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers are one of my personal all-time favourite bands. I finally got to see them live a couple of years back and thought they were outstanding. I say finally because me and a buddy were set to go see him in 1989 before he cancelled. It left us pretty bummed. 25 years later he came back this time I went with another close friend from the same gang.

There's such an authenticity to their music. The Heartbreakers remind me of The E Street Band in their tightness as a group and in their musicianship. Never mind about Petty's unique, rustic sound. Love it.

Damn the Torpedoes and Hard Promises were among the first LPs I ever purchased and still hold those albums in high regard. I still remember buying Full Moon Fever (I believe his first solo effort) and a store called Disqus, taking it home and just plain old enjoying the music. Still listen to it.

Like others, I was taken off guard upon hearing of his passing. Such a loss for rock & roll.

As these old time rockers die off, who will replace them? I'm not seeing much. Where the likes of Springsteen, Beach Boys, Beatles, Kinks, Stones etc. carried the torch for the legends who preceded them - i.e. Cooke, Wilson, Presley, Holly, Little Richard, Lewis, Berry, the blues masters etc. - who will continue their legacy and keep that lineage going?

There are so many great Petty songs. Among my favourites are The Waiting and Don't do me like that.

Even the Losers is an oft overlooked, forgotten song but it's one of TPHB best in my view with its epic "even the losers get lucky sometimes" line:

Stop #($^%$** Apologizing

I've been inactive and have a bunch of stories to get to (including Tom Petty's passing) but just had to make a quick comment about Cam Newton.

I don't think what he said was that bad and he ended up answering the question. Sure, he was taken aback (and to be fair, the reporter was trying too hard) and may have been a little fresh and rude but methinks it's much ado about nothing and a lot to do about the sorry, stupid times we live in. Notably the faux-outrage, overly sensitive world created by political correctness. But it wasn't sexist.

Jourdan (funny how ESPN is silent about her racist tweets in the past. Not that anyone should make more of it than it is given it was a while back) needs to ‘woman up’ and take the punches. She wants to be a professional? Then don’t go cry to Twitter about an athlete saying something mean to you. You want to be seen as an ‘equal’? Then act like you’re equal.
Until then, you just proved to be ‘just like a woman’. You don’t see Ann Coulter apologizing or whining about her treatment, right? Ironically, Coulter is the one showing how you should behave in the face of criticism. Women sports journalists shouldn’t overplay the ‘woe is us’ behaviour.
Athletes and coaches talk like this to journalists – including MEN – all the time. Look up Tortorella and Brooks for example.
The only way this is going to subside and reverse itself is by stopping to give it so much attention. Stop being offended so often and for such things.

As if male reporters never faced offensive athletes and coaches. Sports history is littered with it. But a women awkwardly asks a strange question to which an athlete reacts honestly and we act like the world ends.

Please. Are you tough and professional or not Jourdan? You can't whine each time some athlete says something you feel is inappropriate. And to be perfectly honest, outside the liberal media bubble, he's kinda right. So take this as a learning lesson and move on.

I don't give a shit if someone reading thinks this is 'sexist'. The left lives in an 'alt-realitty' where we're all misogynist, racist and white privileged if we don't toe their shitty line.

You can't say anything anymore lest the perpetual outrage machine hunts you down. It's becoming unbearable. Keep this up and we're never going to see anyone in their natural state because they're going to be too damned afraid to speak.

Cam should not have apologized and everyone should just pipe down at this point because this is 'file under jump the shark'.

And this thing of apologizing for past things is even more offensive and retarded.

STOP FUCKEN APOLOGIZING.
