LeBron James Is A Paper Tiger Just Like China

Lebron James, in his oh so brave Twitter spat with the President, doesn't care if Trump - or anyone else who disagrees with his his brand of Comfort Wokism for that matter - doesn't watch the NBA.

A couple of things about this.

This strikes me as somewhat a selfish and self-absorbed position. He's not thinking of the overall health of the NBA when he alienates part of its fan base or customers. It's a misguided if not foolish position to state publicly. Imagine a major corporation coming out and saying 'We don't care if you buy our product. We believe in 'X' and you should too. If not, bye.'

This is where we're at in 2020. Completely incapable of respect for one another.

Watching NBA players kneel with an American flag behind them was just about the silliest thing I've seen yet. Get real. If you're kneeling during the anthem of your nation it's the same as spitting on it. Simple as that. If you have such a problem with the nation that has provided you with fabulous wealth and fame perhaps the problem lies within you.

And Lebron lacks respect for his league and the fans who may disagree with him.

It's about as short sighted a position to take as you can get.

This is further compounded by the league's utter and laughable hypocrisy with its relationship with China. Clearly, Lebron doesn't care about that. The behavior of the communist party in China is one of tragedy be it through their lying about Covid-19 or crimes against humanity with regards to the Uyghurs. To say nothing of their infamous sweatshops.

This is where part of Lebron's wealth derives.

And he has the audacity to continue to pretend he's fighting for justice? And even there, his support of BLM makes him nothing more than a useful idiot for a Marxist organization. There's a bigger game at play here on two fronts and the NBA and James are just pawns in that game.

Lebron is not putting a single thing in his life on the line. Not a cent. He's not risking anything.

He's no hero.

He's just a sad indictment of faux-virtue run amok.

Contrast this to Gino Bartali. He's an example of a principled athlete who risked his life.

Bartali stared down a real authoritarian in Mussolini who actually crushed, imprisoned and killed dissenters. Lebron and Popovich can eat popcorn from the comforts of their couches as they safely bash Tump from a left-wing platform like Twitter. Such bravery. There are no black shirts in Trump's America no matter what the voices in their heads say.

Nor did Bartali cozy up with Nazis to stick it to Mussolini as the NBA does by siding with communist China. Bartali was his own man with his own moral framework and was driven by pure principles.

The war robbed Bartali of his prime years. To that point, he had be the winner of one Tour de France and twice the Giro d' Italia. When the races resumed after the war, he won each one more time. It's not a stretch to think his five Grand Tours wins would have doubled and put him among the top three winners in his history.

But he did something bigger than that during the war. He save the lives of countless Jews putting his life on the line riding his bike carrying documents under the noses of Nazis.

Bartali didn't take a knee. Didn't squawk about 'not caring if anyone watched'. Didn't toot his own damn horn. He never alienated people.

That's a damn hero.

Not the self-entitled, millionaire, prima donna whiners we have today.

Lebron is a paper tiger. Just like his master China is.

  1. They refuse to let him talk because they refuse to believe the “peaceful protesters” are rioting. How could places like Minnesota request federal funds if everything was peaceful?
