Merry New Year!

Well, that was quick.

Another year, another year closer to death.

I know.

So somber. The somber, macabre nature of aging. The slow whither of a once dynamic-ish individual...aging...

Bah.

The Daily Derp: Getting Schlonged By The Derp

I've noticed page views for non-political posts increase than whenever I impart my observances on such matters.

Meh.

Onto the last Daily Derp of 2015.

***

Someone has to, for instance, look up crap like this:

"Child welfare services in Norway have reportedly removed five Christian children from their parents' home and placed them into foster care after the parents were accused of radicalizing and indoctrinating their children with Christianity.

According to the British-based Christian Institute, Norway's child protection services, known as the Barnevernet, seized the three sons and two daughters of Ruth and Marius Bodnariu in mid-November."

I'd like to see Norwegian authorities and other places like Germany pull this shit with, say, Muslims?

Of course they wouldn't because they're scared witless of violent backlash and too consumed by their own PC drivel to do so. Besides, it's much easier to bully Christians.

***

Real heroes.

Master Sgt. Roddie Edmonds.

A man who stood up to the Nazis in defense of Jews defiantly telling them, 'We're all Jews'.

***

Fake heroes.

"On Tuesday, Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves and his heroic team of militarized storm troopers descended on the home of a single mom and her five kids. Upon removing the mother and her five children from the house, police entered into a 20-hour-long standoff — with the empty house."

"...Instead of apologizing or offering to help clean up the mess he and his crony soldiers made, Groves refers the victim to some vague FBI program that allegedly cleans up after cops wrongly destroy a family’s home.
The Free Thought Project spoke with the victim’s neighbor, Vonda, who said the SWAT team, “left holes in ceiling, all the windows were smashed out, holes in were left in the side of the house” and they literally “ripped her Christmas tree apart,” using a set of claws on the front of a vehicle."

Nice. Brav'. Take a bow.

Is this the 'war on cops' we keep hearing about?

Over to you David French. Spin this in favor of the cops like no other can!

***

And now for my next trick, Rocky!

First let's go back in time with this quote from Obama:

"Now, what we’re doing, I want to be clear, we’re not trying to push financial reform because we begrudge success that's fairly earned. I mean, I do think at a certain point you've made enough money."

Spoken like a true progressive who tend to think economics and wealth are a zero-sum activity.

I wonder if he'd apply this logic to say, government or luxuries in life. Those luxuries he seems to enjoy quite a bit.

Now, what we’re doing, I want to be clear, we’re not trying to push financial redistribution of wealth reform because we begrudge success luxuries that's fairly earned. I mean, I do think at a certain point you've made enough money had too much luxuries."

Do you see the problem with this idiotic line of thinking?

***

Speaking of economic illiteracy. Grandpa Gulag Sanders chimed in with this beaut:

"If I were elected president, the foxes would no longer guard the henhouse. To ensure the safety and soundness of our banking system, we need to fundamentally restructure the Fed’s governance system to eliminate conflicts of interest. Board members should be nominated by the president and chosen by the Senate. Banking industry executives must no longer be allowed to serve on the Fed’s boards and to handpick its members and staff. Board positions should instead include representatives from all walks of life — including labor, consumers, homeowners, urban residents, farmers and small businesses."

And they say Trump is crazy?

When the government gets involved in anything your skeptical Spidey senses should set in.

Oh but T.C. You can't possibly be against saving people from getting hurt, right?

A couple of things to keep in mind.

The 'cure' or 'solution' drawn up by politicians and non-athletic individuals rarely considers the athlete in the context of the sport they play. As such, they are condemned to unintended consequences that may turn up worse than the problem said to remedy.

For example, USA soccer deciding to ban heading at the youth level will not only lead to less proficient play with this tactic but probably more injuries given they will not have had the proper time to learn the skill.

I see no goo of politicians getting involved in this no matter how bad the NFL is. Let the league fall under the weight of its own lies; let the market (fans) determine if the game is worth all these concussions.

There's genuine unrest in Europe. And the media can only keep up the 'blame the right-wing' angle for so long. We see this here. In fact, unsurprisingly, it's actually wrong and dangerous.

Germany is evicting its own citizens to make place for refugees. Is this what Merkel meant when she said 'we could do this' referring to her country's ability to absorb new peoples?

Sweden is hardly in better hands. Its immigration policies are increasingly under heavy criticism and  one of its socialist ministers laughed at a Muslim rape victim.

Margot Wallstom is no stranger to stupid  comments:

"Israel described on Monday as "appallingly impudent" comments by Sweden's foreign minister that it interpreted as an attempt to link the Islamic State attacks in Paris to the plight of Palestinians under Israeli occupation.

Sweden's ambassador to Israel was summoned to the Israeli Foreign Ministry to explain the remarks Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom made on Saturday to Swedish state broadcaster SVT.

Asked if she was concerned about the radicalisation of young people in Sweden who are fighting for Islamic State, Wallstrom said: "Clearly we have a reason to be worried not only here in Sweden but around the world because there are so many who are being radicalised."

Nonsense.

What, no ironic jokes about Stockholm Syndrome?

***

What, not enough for you?

"German authorities are housing asylum seekers on the site of former Nazi labor camp Schwerte-Ost, which was a sub-camp of Buchenwald, while their applications for asylum are being processed, according to the Weekend Australian."

Tina Fey is done apologizing for her humor.

I find it both sad and ironic that comedians who go out shilling for progressive causes and politics (like they did with Obama who turned out to be far worse for liberty - freedom of the press, transparency, drone killing without due process, whistleblowers etc.) later complain about the atmosphere of intolerance and downright idiocy laid down by the side they supported.

Oh yes I completely think this is all on the progressive side. I can't see how anyone would think otherwise.

Fey milked Palin (I'm sure she got some flack for this but I don't recall conservatives asking for her right to perform her humorous act be censored) for all she was worth. Turns out Palin was the least of her worries, eh?

Speaking of guns, Charles C. Cooke says the 2A really isn't up for debate.

And I agree -as I've argued on this blog over the years.

But liberals are having none of it.

Remember when they used to say they would never, ever call for outright bans or confiscation or disarmament? Yeah, well. That's finished. They want them banned and one way to do that is to re-work and revise the spirit of the 2A.

It's not a hard game to spot people. Snap, snap.

***

But Canada is so peaceful and Europeans sophisticated! Surely they don't want to be uncouth Americans, correct?

Fact: In Canada around 1920, before there was any form of gun control, their homicide rate was 7% of the U.S rate. By 1986, and after significant gun control legislation, Canada’s homicide rate was 35% of the U.S. rate – a significant increase. 10 In 2003, Canada had a violent crime rate more than double that of the U.S. (963 vs. 475 per 100,000). 11
Fact: One study of Canadian firearm law and homicide rates spanning 34 years “failed to demonstrate a beneficial association between legislation and firearm homicide rates” for three major gun control bills. 12

Never mind that the Auditor-General discovered it costs Canadians $2 billion just to run a program of this sort with little proof it works. Canada has more total crime per capita than the USA. In fact, several European nations including the Sweden, Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Norway (funny how we never see this in the news) Germany, UK, France and Italy do as well. In double fact, the entire EU has more crime than the United States.

The only myth making, I see, is those pushing for the confiscation of guns. They fall on two sides of a coin as far as I can tell. Control-freaks (including, naturally, those in government) and pearl-clutching pant-shitters who blame inanimate objects for crimes committed by humans.

It's amazing how incredibly shallow people are when it comes to gun ownership.

Yes. I do consider it an irrational position to take just like climate change.

But people are set in their beliefs. The New York Daily News has been at the forefront of unreasonable and unhinged poppycocking over guns. From their hyper-hysterical fear-mongering covers to their relativist approach of asserting every crime is a 'terrorist' crime. Insanely calling Wayne Lapierre 'Jihadi Wayne' in the process.

All this does is confuse people's moral compass and serves to maintain abject ignorance among the masses when it comes to guns. Terrorism, at its most basic and accepted definition, is an act to covey a political message or hijack a political agreement. As such, killers like Lanza and Holmes are not 'terrorists' but just plain old killers.

And NYDN cynically chooses to blur these lines willingly to further their agenda.

***

I don't think it should come as any surprise or that it's a secret the way the case for arms confiscation is framed is what drives the perception.

Advocates for gun control will prey on a national tragedy or target a specific shooting and build a case appealing to both authority and emotions. Rarely is any of it rooted in reliable or valid statistics supporting their claims.

***

Yet, if one observes carefully, citizens are doing the opposite. Gun sales have sky rocketed.

Sounds as though Obama is their greatest salesman.

You can dismiss it as it being driven by 'crazies' or 'right-wingers' but the numbers suggest it's a little bigger than labels. I don't know exactly what's going on but if I were to guess possibly a combination of citizens defending their rights to bear arms (I think most people understand the 2A is under irrational criticism), concerns about national security and a good old fashioned healthy skepticism of what authorities (notably politicians) are telling them.

Yet family members say she said just that, three days after the attack, at the Sept. 14, 2012, ceremony at Andrews Air Force Base."

Never mind about those emails. As a historian of American history I know put it:

"The left have been bitching about 18 minutes of missing tape for 40 years, but 25,000 missing emails from a private server is yawn."

It's amazing that a person with so many smoking guns, baggage and skeletons in the closet has a chance to win.

In our private lives we tell people we care about to stay clear of such people. Not in politics. Nope. People vote such people into power.

"Hillary Clinton has appointed to her leadership team a former congressman who blamed his defeat on “Jewish interests” and the “Jewish media,” her campaign announced earlier this month.
The Clinton campaign named Earl Hilliard, Sr., who served in Congress from 1992 to 2002, as part of her 60-member Alabama leadership team on Nov. 20."

Leadership.

Hating everyone about Trump.

"...So when Trump proposed to halt Muslim entry to the country as a security measure, you saw a familiar pattern. The media flipped out. The media didn’t quite accurately convey his actual plan, such as it was. The media then demanded other candidates and elected officials and pundits denounce the proposal. When they did, there were stories about the GOP’s “escalating rhetoric” and when they merely disagreed but didn’t denounce, there were stories aghast about that, too.

Compare that to President Obama’s proposal on Sunday night to deny constitutionally protected rights without due process to anyone put on a secret list. Keep in mind that this was a proposal by a sitting U.S. president, not a mere candidate. First off, no media flipped out (a few days later the Los Angeles Times criticized the plan). Many media didn’t accurately convey his actual plan (was it a no-fly list or something else?), but in a way that helped make it seem less extreme. They did not demand other Democrats denounce the proposal, which would surely have targeted mostly Muslims. They did not write stories about escalating rhetoric. They did not write stories about Democrats refusing to denounce a plan that would violate civil liberties of Muslims."

This is a tactic in media that's always bothered me. They pull a quote out of its context and present it as though it's journalism or legitimate criticism.

Disgrace To Knwoledge, Science And Rational Thought: Climate Change Is Rooted In Lies, Pessimism, Ignorance And Fear-Mongering Stupidity

Paris Climate Conference: Indulgences For All

Preparing yet another Daily Derp soooo....

I know. I've never waited this long between posts but it's been one of those years.

Just a quick word on Paris. While everyone is giving each other bum taps for this toothless waste of theater, leave it to me to knock sense into folks.

Call this for what it is. Taking money from the middle class in wealthy countries and handing it straight into the pockets of dictators in tin pot countries and kleptocrats in poor countries. That's all this will accomplish. Nothing else. It won't keep emissions down. It won't keep temperatures between 1.5 and 2 degrees. It won't save Peter Plant. It won't do anything. Know why? Because the whole fucken thing is a lie and an exercise in unhinged hubris.

The whole notion that we need to rid ourselves of fossil fuels is so incredibly ludicrous and dangerous, it makes you wonder just who the true extremists are. Well, I know it's those who pimp climate change and those who blindly follow them.

Let me put it to you this way. If we stop using fossil fuels (an energy source that's never been cleaner and continues to evolve because of something called technology and innovation) today. Are you, those who call for its demise, ready to make do with planes, trains, automobiles and iPhones?

Thought so.

You know. Donald Trump may be a blow hard but at least we all know his game. But how are people like John Kerry and Bernie Sanders any less blowhardy with their incessant fear-mongering about climate change?

Says Grandpa Gulag: "If we do not address the global crisis of climate change, transform our energy system away from fossil fuel to sustainable energy, the planet that we're going to be leaving our kids and our grandchildren may well not be habitable."

Oh fuck off you pant-shitting disingenuous commie.

The planet will be fine. It's as sure a bet as the Cleveland Browns not winning the Super Bowl this year. I'm not foolish enough to expand my prediction beyond this year. Unlike moronic emissions targets that reach as far as 2030.

But. I will predict that by 2030 we'll all be here.

And then there's John Kerry. Oh, dear me. Well, read for yourself. Try and not throw yourself out the window.

This is not science. It's scientism. They just believe a version of science (a hopelessly manipulated one). In this way, it's a religion. Nothing more, nothing less.

Final thought. The thing that fascinates and perplexes at the same time is how there seems to be no room for any good news when it comes to climate.

Whenever I read something about, say, global temps have held steady for 10 years, one would think 'yay! Good thing', no?

Alas, no. The mindset seems to be one of 'NO good news! Just bad! All the time!' There seems to be absolutely no tolerance or belief that the earth can mend itself on its own. No way, man. MAN HAS TO DO IT.

Such utter, nonsensical bull shit.

China Ain't Going Along With Climate Change Narrative

Like, duh:

“A programme to rapidly reduce pollutants harmful to human health would be at odds with a programme to reduce CO2,” Adams states, noting that human health is unaffected by CO2, a colourless, odourless, tasteless gas. Next to keeping its economy afloat, the biggest challenge to its credibility that the Communist leadership faces is its need to reduce smog.  “I have never heard of a public protest in China against carbon dioxide emissions,” Adams states. “CO2 is a major concern for Western NGOs with offices in Beijing but it’s a non-issue for Chinese citizens and environmentalists at the grassroots.”

All that China will commit to, says the Adams report, is to continue to improve the energy efficiency of its economy as it grows – a goal it has long pursued, independent of global warming concerns. In doing so, China aims to increase its GDP along with its fossil fuel use, and by 2030 or so will depend on fossil fuels for 80% of its energy use, down from today’s 90%. When it reaches 80% 15 years hence, its energy makeup will largely resemble America’s today."

China has no time for Western climate hubris and its climate indulgences scams.

The West - in all its arrogant glory - will naturally plow through with policies and targets that will hurt their economies with little or no impact on the environment. Then they're all gonna ask like a bunch of clueless dumbasses, 'wha happened'?

Obama Continues To Lie About Mass Shootings Abroad

The President is leaving me no choice but to conclude he is indeed disconnected and unhinged from facts and reality.

Obama repeated the bizarre and inaccurate claim following the Planned Parenthood killing spree that "These shootings just don't happen in other countries'.

He said this....while in Paris but one month removed from a mass terrorist attack.

Shocking and appalling he would go there but there he did.

They do happen. Google is an easy tool even for lazy and arrogant minds who have cheap political points to score soon after every single shooting tragedy. There's enough data to suggest he's plain wrong and therefore it's easy to conclude he's deliberately misleading "folks" as he likes to call his constituents.

You would think someone within his advisory council would ask him to cut it out lest he comes out looking like a lying sociopath.

Or maybe they have and...he just doesn't care.

Because narrative. It must be.
