Daily Round Up: Fall Of The West Says Do Not Offend The Weather Gods

Now, apparently, if you look like an alleged rapist on campus you too can be in trouble.

This is what happens when you give an inch.

This is why it's best to stand firm against foul progressive hysteria.

My advice is sports fans should stand behind the Redskins because if they fall, no one is safe.

We know from experience - look at the smoking crusade which has become an outright attack on personal choice entering the private sphere - they will be emboldened and move on to other team names they deem offensive.

That it's even come to this says a lot where we are. And it's not good.

What ISIS wants. I admit not having had the time to read this article in The Atlantic but the subject is relevant and I have it on good authority it's a good read.

Good. The Atlantic has been hit or miss recently. Not as bad and pathetic as the once interesting The New Republic but not too far behind.

Shame about Target in Canada. I know Canadians have taken a bit of a 'good we don't need no American corporation misunderstanding' opinion - in other words, the usual load of crap filled with lack of awareness - but Target was a company that differed from Wal-Mart. In the USA, Target, erm market target, is more affluent and educated consumers. Wal-Mart caters to a different clientele. Therein lies the difference between the Canadian and American markets. The American one is more segmented and diverse whereas the Canadian one (being small and all) is less clear. Hence, Wal-Mart captures all sorts of customers from all segments of the economy and economic classes.

The old saying is (well mine anyway) is you see wealthy hot Milfs here at Wal-Mart, whereas you'll likely see those at Target in the USA. Wal-Mart is a freak show.

Target, um missed their mark when it comes to this subtle point. They clearly didn't examine the market enough.

A shame.

Biden gets a pass because he's a Democrat. There isn't a leader in North American politics in such a high profile position that behaves in such a manner. His comments over the years have been baffling and simply outrageous.

He's harmless. Unlike that Cheney feller. I suppose is the thinking.

Cheney was professional. Biden is not.

Part of the image (and charm to some) of this aloof administration I reckon.

Happy couples deluding themselves.

Happy loving couples aren't friends of mine.

The Daily Beast reported recently that Italy didn't have 5 000 troops to deploy in order to fight ISIS.

Whoever printed that should have been scratching their heads since it makes little sense.

Italy has 170-225,000 people in the military according to various sources. Among them an effective peacekeeping force, reputable spec-ops commandos and highly regarded air force.

Stereotypes about the Italian army (like the French) stemming mostly from one war throughout its 3000 year history aside (well, they have had some bad luck along the way), it does possess some assets in its arsenal.

Italy's military is pretty much in line, in terms of spending, with other members of NATO. That is to say, not much but that's for another discussion.

Beyond this, I submit - generally speaking - the Italians possess a certain affable and congenial character trait that most military in the world don't have because of regimented notions of protocol and chains of commands. Those things are mere suggestions if not details among Italians. They know how to read a situation pragmatically. They can befriend and adjust to other cultures with a simple cigarette and light conversation. Americans have that friendly trait as well.

I don't worry about Europe's fighting abilities and military capabilities (thanks in large parts to the United States of America) but I do worry about their PC leanings which may cloud their decisions.

From Cathch-22:

Old man in whorehouse: I'm a very moral man, and Italy is a very moral country. That's why we will certainly come out on top again if we succeed in being defeated.

Capt. Nately: You talk like a madman.

Old man in whorehouse: But I live like a sane one. I was a fascist when Mussolini was on top. Now that he has been deposed, I am anti-fascist. When the Germans were here, I was fanatically pro-German. Now I'm fanatically pro-American. You'll find no more loyal partisan in all of Italy than myself.

Capt. Nately: You're a shameful opportunist! What you don't understand is that it's better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.

Old man in whorehouse: You have it backwards. It's better to live on your feet than to die on your knees. I know.

If Italy seems like it can't defend itself, maybe the Americans have a part to play in this?

America enabled Europe?

Prediction Britain will be a totalitarian regime and will blame Thatcher, Bush and the Jews. In the end, we end up blaming the Jews. Always the Jews.

Mine is more realistic than the end of climate times bull hysterically being shilled by environmentalists.

But they believe.
